When I completed my undergraduate degree in Education studies with Denise. I was lost and unsure what I wanted to do next. I met Denise one day at the library and she was telling me that she was continuing her studies, and going to do her Masters. She told me it was important to continue education and that I should think about completing a masters too.

Knowing that Denise has a very busy home life, was continuing studying and working was very inspirational. Her determination and tenacity to do the best for herself and her family is inspiring. Knowing that she is prepared to do anything to help and support me  her fellow students to realise their potential, was a positive trait.

Two years I was suspended by the university over  fees dispute of which the student finance had declined to make payment. Fortunately, I was introduced to Denise who intervened and  supported me through this traumatic and overwhelming experience.

After some amazing intervention and  mentoring support by Denise, I was reinstated back on my course and on the final leg of my BA studies in Criminology, and looking forward to graduate in 2025.

WOMANA's (CEO and Founder), Denise Morrison, has been an invaluable support during my training at LMSU. Her presence and dedication have been unwavering.

Additionally, when I faced issues with my maintenance loan, she took charge and mobilised everyone to address the problem with student finance, ensuring my concerns were finally considered. Without her, my issue would have remained unresolved, highlighting her commitment and impact on my academic journey.

She is always welcoming students with her positive approach to life and education, definitely something not so common at London Metropolitan University.

My Heartfelt Thank You

As a mature student, the thought of returning to education was daunting. Trying to juggle single parenthood, as my husband often travels abroad due to his job, work, and home life while adding the responsibility of studying felt overwhelming. I knew it could make a difference in my life, better work opportunities, but I couldn't shake the fear of piling more onto an already full plate.

I've known Denise for over 10 years. We had lost touch, but recently reconnected over 2 years now, and during one of our conversations, I shared with her my thoughts about going back to school. Not only did she encourage me, having gone through similar challenges herself, but she reassured me that once I started learning again, I wouldn't regret it. She even predicted that I would go further than I ever imagined.

And she was right.

I started with my Beauty Therapy course, beginning at Level 2 to build a strong foundation. I progressed through Level 3, completed Level 4, and now I'm in the early stages of my degree in Advanced Beauty Aesthetics Level 5. This journey has been nothing short of transformative.

I owe so much of my gratitude to Denise, not just for encouraging me, but for helping me believe in myself. She reminded me, "Tai you can do it." Her support has made such a difference in navigating each step, and now I find myself looking forward to greater opportunities and embracing a newfound confidence in who I am and what I can achieve, with endless possibilies.

Thank you so much, WOMANA and my dearest Denise. You are truly a blessing

WOMANA'S (CEO and Founder), Denise have  advised me  during my studies and encouraged me on how to use the support services available at London Metropolitan University.

Whenever she saw me in the library or the Students' Union office, she would have a word of encouragement for me. She had a passion for the younger students, and it transmitted well in her daily approach.

She is all about striving to do your best and I remembered that throughout my studies.

Having dealt with Denise in my capacity as student representative for International Relations and Politics studies, I can attest that she is trustworthy, goal-oriented, helpful, and

gets along well with everyone at the university as the leading advocate of the Students' Union at London Metropolitan University.

In addition to being an attentive listener, she proactively addressed student problems and offered prompt solutions or referrals; most notably, as a schoolmate, she encouraged her peers to succeed academically.

Denise Morrison was phenomenal in making all the massive difference for me to prevail to the end in my studies. (Without which I could have dropped out).

The support I received from her was psychological, emotional and practical as in sometimes assisting in mitigating circumstances about some of my re-submissions.

Denise is a real-life superwoman. She is a great role model to all London Met students like myself. She is empowering and inspiring, and she is also a great listener.

She has been truly supportive of students like myself, always providing us with great advice and motivational words. But her support did not stop there; she went above and beyond, ensuring to support students with kids, students with "special abilities", as well as foreign students, making us feel ALWAYS included and valued in the university community.

I met Denise in 2021 while pursuing my undergraduate degree at London Metropolitan University. I have been diagnosed with dyslexia, dyspraxia, and scotopic sensitivity, which greatly impacted the challenges I encountered during my studies.

Before I could graduate, I required crucial assistance. Over the course of three months, I sent numerous emails regarding this matter, and wasn't getting anywhere. My email eventually landed in Denise's mail box who became my primary contact. Her unwavering support enabled me to graduate successfully.

However, Denise's support did not stop there. She continued to follow up with me to ensure a smooth transition from student life to that of a full-time professional. Furthermore, she encouraged me to pursue a master's degree. I returned to London Metropolitan University and was further supported by her, with enrollment.

I successfully completed my master's in social work in 2024, with distinction. Today, I am a fully qualified social worker, employed by a local authority in the adult mental health team.

Denise has been an incredible source of support during my time at Londonmet. From the moment I first approached her, I found her to be warm and approachable, always ready to listen to my experiences and challenges at the university. In my second year, I truly struggled to balance my studies, assignments, and work commitments. It felt overwhelming, as if I were sinking under the pressure.

One morning, I mustered the courage to meet Denise at the canteen. As I greeted her, her cheerful response instantly put me at ease. Her welcoming and attentive demeanor made it easy to open up about my difficulties. I shared my frustrations and worries with her, and she listened without judgment.

In her calm and supportive way, Denise explained the significance of time management, sharing her own inspiring journey. She told me how she successfully completed her Master's degree while serving as the SU president and caring for ten children. Hearing her story filled me with hope and motivation. Her insights on planning and utilising my time effectively shifted my perspective on studying completely.

By the end of that semester, I was thrilled to achieve straight A's, in all four of my modules, and I know I owe a significant part of that success to Denise's guidance. Her compassion and understanding made all the difference during a challenging time in my life.

I first met Denise at the student union of London Metropolitan University. She was sitting at the first table, enjoying a sip of coffee. At the time, I was preparing to stand for the 2023/2024 Leadership Election, but I was feeling quite lethargic and unsure about it.

Denise approached me suddenly and said, Deepika, you have the capacity to do this. It would be a great opportunity to participate and just gain the experience. Her encouragement made me feel important and boosted my confidence.

Despite my initial doubts, I decided to participate in the election. Although I didn't win, it turned out to be one of the best experiences of my life.

Denise then gave me another incredible opportunity to speak about the International Student Experience at UKAT CONFERENCE 2024, held at Greenwich University .

This experience helped me break out of my shell and significantly improved my confidence. Denise has always been there for me, providing constant support and motivation. She truly is my lucky charm.

I met Denise in 2021 on Campus. I had spent my first year studying online and being back on campus was exciting, but challenging. Denise who was the SU president at the time helped me to find my classroom once when I was lost and I later discovered that she had studied at LondonMet while raising 10 children.

As a single mother raising 4 children while attending full-time education, her story blew my mind, but also served as a motivation for me to thrive and achieve my goals. I went on to finish my degree and embark on a full-time MA course which I completed last year.

Denise invited me to contribute to several forums and later shared her vision for WOMANA with me. I joined as a volunteer as a way of giving back to the community by encouraging other student-parents who might be struggling in their journey.
